Craftsmanship & materials

Honest materials, expertly made.

Every Rohm piece begins with the material and the hands that finish it. We design furniture to be lived with. Warm, tactile, and built to last.

Our approach

It starts with the material.

Before a shape, before a finish, there is the question of what a piece is made of. We choose natural woods, weaves and honest fabrics. Materials that feel good under the hand and only grow more characterful with time. The design follows the material, not the other way around.

The result is furniture with a quiet confidence. Clean lines, soft edges, and nothing that shouts for attention.

What goes into every piece

The materials, and why.

Solid timber

We build in solid, responsibly sourced wood, teak among them, rather than veneer over board. The grain is matched by eye, the edges are softened by hand, and the wood is left to speak for itself.

Rattan & cane

Natural rattan and hand-woven cane bring lightness and warmth. Each weave is worked by skilled hands, so no two panels are ever quite the same.

Linen & natural weaves

Upholstery in linen and natural-fibre blends. Breathable, tactile, and chosen to soften and settle beautifully with everyday use.

Hand-applied finishes

Low-sheen oils and finishes that protect without hiding. They deepen with time and can be refreshed, so a piece ages gracefully instead of wearing out.

The made-to-last promise

Furniture that earns its place.

We would rather offer fewer, better things. Pieces that can be used hard, cared for easily, renewed over the years, and handed on, never discarded when the season changes.

How we work

Quiet craft, start to finish.

01

Designed slowly

We refine proportion and comfort until a piece feels right. Nothing is rushed to chase a trend.

02

Made by hand

Joinery, weaving and finishing are done by makers we know and trust, people who take pride in the parts you never see.

03

Made to be kept

Pieces made to be used, cared for and passed on. We would rather you keep a Rohm piece for years than replace it in one.

Looking after your piece

A little care goes a long way.

Teak likes a stable spot away from direct heat and harsh sun. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, wipe spills promptly, and refresh oiled surfaces now and then to keep them nourished. Natural weaves and linens prefer gentle handling and a vacuum brush over harsh cleaners. Treated kindly, these materials do not just survive everyday life. They get better for it.
